Hood Skibowl, and the Summit ski area, with the Mirror Lake and Trillium Lake trailheads right out the back door. From here you're a short, scenic drive from the lifts, Trillium Lake's classic reflection of Mt. Hood, and the snowshoe and Nordic trails around Mirror Lake — without paying the premium for a bed inside the village itself.

It's the base for Mt. Hood's biggest winter draws: Timberline Lodge (open for skiing nearly year-round on the Palmer snowfield), Mt. Hood Skibowl (night skiing and a summer adventure park), and the Summit ski area. Trillium Lake, with its iconic mirror view of the mountain, is just to the south.
