Zig Zag Village is a quiet, wooded community at the base of Mt. Hood, east of Portland on Highway 26. Government Camp and Timberline Lodge make good destinations for a day of skiing, hiking or sledding, followed by dinner back at the cabin. Allow for traffic and mountain weather. A few short drives and you'll find local favorites: Skyway Bar & Grill for live music and food, and the Zig Zag Inn for a classic Mt. Hood meal. There's a grocery store nearby for stocking up, plus gear rental shops in Government Camp if you forgot anything. In summer, the Sandy River is a short walk away through the community's maintained trails, and the Salmon River, Trillium Lake, and dozens of hiking trails are all close by. In winter, it's all about the slopes — Mt. Hood Skibowl, Timberline and Mt. Hood Meadows are all mountain destinations to plan around current road conditions. Year-round, this stretch of Mt. Hood is one of Oregon's most-loved escapes, and Zig Zag Village puts you right in the middle of it.

Great place to stay and the host accommodated some things for us! Overall clean and quiet area. Parking is more difficult if you have bigger vehicles. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Airbnb with amazing views. It’s a short walk from the river with a peak at Mt Hood! Neighborhood is lovely and very peaceful. Would definitely recommend!

This is hands down the best airbnb I've ever stayed in! I came with a group of 7 for a birthday trip and had an unbelievable time. Alice's space is so well taken care of, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook while we were there as well. More than enough bedsheets and towels, a prepped fireplace, lovely trails nearby and a hot- tub ready to go-- Alice provided so many great recommendations and travel tips as well! Checkout was smooth too so we could focus on packing and enjoying the time we had left. If you're considering a place to stay I can't recommend this Airbnb or host more! We'd love to return someday!
